Bungarribee is becoming even better
We’re continuously working to make Bungarribee Park even better! The work that’s underway right now will be ready for visitors to enjoy before too long. It includes longer cycling and walking tracks, larger picnic areas, new play areas, more shade trees and a bigger car park.

A boulevard of trees with immediate benefits
We’re on a mission to plant hundreds of trees around the edges and entrances of the Parklands and recently our crews have been working after hours to create a ‘boulevard’ effect along the Great Western Highway.

First RunWest a huge success
The inaugural RunWest festival at the Parklands saw thousands of people of all ages and abilities walk, jog and run the 4km or 12km course. As well as promoting healthy lifestyles, RunWest celebrated the lively Western Sydney community and its many cultures.

Western Sydney Parklands gets $20M of extra playspace
The NSW Government today announced Western Sydney is getting $20 million worth of additional recreational facilities in the Western Sydney Parklands. Environment Minister Gabrielle Upton said the Government’s economic management is allowing it to make these sorts of major investments and keep delivering for Western Sydney.

From award-winning playgrounds to bushland trails, waterslides and weekend markets, the Parklands has something to offer everyone through the holiday season. Moving the trail for the trees
A few weeks ago, a fallen branch in a mature spotted gum on the Wylde mountain bike trail exposed several remnant trees with hollows. Our team of Park Coordinators was faced with a difficult decision.

New event venue and café for Lizard Log
Construction has begun on an event venue in Western Sydney Parklands that will bring new business into the community and more people into the park.

Sydney kids bringing back the bush
The future of Sydney’s biggest backyard is in the safe hands of a new generation of conservationists, thanks to a massive replanting and education program underway in Western Sydney Parklands. Bringing Back the Bush is an ambitious initiative, funded by the Western Sydney Parklands Trust to restore the endangered Cumberland Plain Woodland, a unique ecosystem of plants and animals that once thrived in Western Sydney.

Parklands projects win big at national design awards
Two Western Sydney Parklands’ projects have been recognised at the highest level at last week’s Australian Institute of Landscape Architecture (AILA) Awards, with Bungarribee at Doonside winning a coveted Award of Excellence and Southern Parklands Vision 2036 picking up a Landscape Architecture Award.
